Science Set
Design systems built around vintage educational material come to life in a factory, STEM, science setting.
OverviewScience Set is an exploration of education learning done through the lens of a fantastic factory where everything is movie, bubbling, and interacting.
The ChallengeDevelop a creative strategy to illustrate the facination and mystery of scientific exploration in a way that could uniquely challenge standard points of view. The focus of this short was meant to highlight chemistry and in-lab experimentation.
My RoleLed creative and concept development as well as visual strategy and art direction.
Creative ApproachThe project communicated the objective through iterative motion systems, reflecting the scientic method and testing methodologies that scientists employ in lab settings. The imagery used was intentionally fantastic and took a liberal illustration approach that called back to mid-century scientific illustration.
ExecutionProduced video and motion assets as well as poster and print collateral for the exhibitions.
ImpactThe animation aired internlly on screens for The Drake hotels, screened as part of Animocje Festival in Poland, and was curated programming at the Gardiner Museum and Alliance Française in Toronto.
